Sharon Barber, Asst District Director, Tacoma Business Assistance Center, Small Business Administration (SBA)

Sharon Barber has been employed with the U.S. Small Business Administration for 20 years having served in the Liquidation, Loan Servicing, and Economic Development Departments at the Boise, Idaho SBA District Office.

In addition to Sharon’s government service, her private sector experience included Director, Economic Development, American Red Cross and Marketing
Representative for National Federation of Independent Businesses.

In 1999, she transferred from Boise, Idaho to Seattle, Washington and currently serves as the Assistant District Director of the Tacoma Business Assistance Center for the Small Business Administration.

The Center’s main focus is to provide small business technical support to the community in the areas of financing, government contracting, marketing, legal, accounting, and business planning, all at no cost to the
small business client. Also provided by the Center is an array of business trainings offered at a nominal cost to the public.
