Last Pit Stop, Coming to
East Lewis County, July 8

The East Lewis County Chamber of Commerce is inviting local and regional businesses and organizations to participate at the Last Pit Stop as of the national “Great Race”. The country's longest running and richest vintage automobile rally will stop in Packwood on Friday, July 8.

Packwood’s Cowlitz River Lodge will be the site for a full day of fun, to include family-friendly entertainment and hands-on activities, vendor booths, car shows, and the arrival of the race rally in mid-afternoon. The cars will stop at sponsored pit stop stations and be greeted and provided with refreshments. The best pit stop crew will earn a $500 prize from the Chamber of Commerce.

In addition to the East Lewis County Chamber of Commerce and Cowlitz River Lodge, the event is also being presented by Cascade Peaks RV Resort & Campground. The day will conclude with a barbecue and entertainment at Cascade Peaks in the evening.

This exciting event will bring national attention to East Lewis County, and provide an opportunity for businesses and organizations to share in the community spirit and help East Lewis County have a chance to win the All-American City Award, which would give the Packwood and Randle Libraries a $3,000 prize to share.

Pit Stop Station Sponsors: Welcome the Great Race drivers with East Lewis County community spirit AND promote your business or organization too! Pit Stop Stations will have pit crews of no more than 4 people, who will greet drivers as they arrive into each station, and assist them with getting refreshments and other services at the site.

Sponsors can promote their business to the community with a banner, hand-outs, etc. And, the best pit crew (as judged by volunteers on the Chamber’s judging team) will win $500.

There are 35 pit stop station slots available, to serve appromately 125 cars. You are welcome to share a station with another business.

Vendor/Activity Sponsors: Promote your business or organization with a booth where you can provide family-friendly, hands-on activities and demonstrations to the many community members who will be attending the Great Race Last Pit Stop event.

Car Club Sponsors: Showcase your Car Club’s member autos.

In-Kind Sponsors: The Great Race Last Pit Stop will be responsible for providing food and beverages to 275 Race participants and support personnel. We also will be providing “Goody Bags” to drivers, with local products and items that highlight the East Lewis County region. We are welcoming donations of food drinks, goody bags items, as well as entertainers, construction companies (for site props, etc.), and other assistance.

ALL SPONSORS will receive publicity in Last Pit Stop printed program, press releases, and related materials, as well as on the East Lewis County Chamber of Commerce website.

Deadline for Sponsorship Agreements is May 31, 2005. Early-bird specials on Pit Stop Station Sponsorships are available through May 10, 2005, and Chamber members receive a discount on the fee too.
