Goals
The East
Lewis County Chamber of Commerce provides civic, economic, educational,
and community related projects to enhance the continual development of
the region as a welcoming, supportive community
in which to live, work, visit and conduct business.
Promote
East Lewis County as a welcoming, inclusive community for visitors, potential
business investors, people looking to relocate, and current residents.
- Operate
the East Lewis County Visitors Information Center
- Promote
the region as a tourist destination through “Discover East Lewis
County” marketing campaign, to include print marketing (advertising,
brochures, visitors guides) and website at www.eastlewiscounty.com
- Operate
the Lewis County Public Market to encourage tourism and the growth of
cottage industries
- Promote
the rural characteristics of the region by developing and highlighting
new and existing “agri-tourism” businesses
Expand
new business development in East Lewis County
- Present
annual Economic Development Summits
- Provide
resources and programs for new business support
- Solicit
new businesses to the area through marketing and promotion efforts and
by working with related agencies and organizations
Support
existing businesses to enhance their operations and profitability
- Promote
member businesses through marketing to community via Chamber’s
website, e-newsletter, and providing story ideas to media
- Present
business seminars, speaker series, and networking opportunities
- Highlight
exemplary businesses through an awards program
Address
social concerns that affect the quality of life and potential for new
business interest in the community
- Oversee
the local Horizons
program in the Mossyrock/Salkum/Silver Creek area, an 18-month
program to create a more thriving community and reduce poverty
- Participate
as a member of Lewis County's Meth Task Force and support the growth
and development of the East Lewis County Youth Meth Action Team
- Present
Community Forums on Education to highlight the concerns, solutions,
and accomplishments of the public school districts and higher education
in the community
- Identify
and present programs on other quality of life concerns that affect social
demographics, collaborating with other agencies and organizations as
much as possible
Represent
economic and civic interests for the region, to develop improvements through
education, networking, and activism
- Represent
community by attending meetings of County’s Economic Development
Panel, city council meetings, and local organizations with related interests
and missions
