Chamber Events -- 2006
The Horizons Program
In October 2006, the Chamber introduced the 18-month Horizons
program to the greater Mossyrock area. (Horizons is delivered in Washington
state by WSU Extension and funded
by the Northwest Area Foundation). This
community leadership program helps rural communities in seven states move
from poverty to prosperity. The Chamber obtained 15 community member signatures
for the community's application, and Mossyrock was accepted to the program,
one of 23 Washington rural communities participating. The Chamber and
its volunteers coordinated the Study Circles and LeadershipPlenty phases
of the program and now provides local support to the community members
that are continuing their participation in the program with projects that
include the Blueberry Blues
Fest, Mossyrock Public
Market, and Community Time
Bank. Visit the Horizons
website to learn more.

2007
East
Lewis County Discovery Days
Plans are to create an East County-wide weekend summer festival in 2007
to highlight and celebrate the unique natural, recreational, rural, business,
and cultural resources of the area. We envision a weekend of activities
at venues throughout our large region.
We welcome participation by community organizations, businesses, farms
and ranches, entertainers, artists and craftspeople, and individual volunteers
who would like to help showcase East County to your fellow residents and
to visitors from outside the area. This festival will support the Chamber's
mission to promote East County as a welcoming, supportive
community in which to live, work, visit, and conduct business. If you'd
like to get involved, please Contact Us.
